Regenerative farming doesn’t know its audience ! And we won’t get to know it by talking amongst ourselves.
The second part of our interview with Anna Jones serves up some home truths, namely regenerative farming is not selling itself well and stakeholders are not trying hard enough either.
We need to tell a story that reaches beyond the converted and committed.
At its heart this is about framing regenerative farming correctly.
Do we aim for optional benevolent support for a niche activity or are farmers engaged in an imperative activity? Do we appeal to those who can afford or talk about that everyone cannot afford the alternative. Which is depending on global chains that not only degrade soils but also depend on increasingly fragile global flows of grains and oilseeds, energy and chemicals, such as fertilizers.
We will explore this and other themes in upcoming content.
