Why Cefetra?

At Cefetra Group we have been cultivating trust for over 120 years. We are invested in the agricultural commodities, ingredients, drinks, and bio energy industries. Cefetra’s involvement in the agricultural supply chain began in 1899 when what we now know as Cefetra was set up to help an association of local farmers to buy fertiliser.

We are the leading European initiative at scale that rewards farmers for sustainable farming practices while having a direct involvement in the procurement, quality and logistical elements of the agricultural supply chain.

Behind this programme is a business that moves 15 million tonnes of physical goods from farm to fork, a commitment to over 5,000 customers and suppliers, and a legacy to preserve. We achieve this through our strong port presence, logistical expertise, extensive distribution network, and solid relationships with farmers. This strong foundation supports our efforts to foster sustainability and innovation throughout the agricultural value chain.

As a supply chain manager, our involvement in the market for carbon-reduced commodities is driven by a dual purpose: meeting our customers’ demand to achieve emissions reduction targets through responsible procurement and ensuring that farmers receive a fair reward for adopting sustainable practices.
